“On the Forest Floor” is an ongoing series that focuses on the intimacy of my relationship with nature. The photographs taken are of an area that holds great importance to me. One that I have had the opportunity to grow alongside. For this I’ve chosen intimate and low camera angles to explore and share that other world that I have seen and that I connect so strongly with. I re-explore and reimagine that same place with every photograph. The creatures are based carefully off each photograph. “Who lives there and what are they showing me?” They represent that childish wonder that I think I've grown out of. Only to slip back into it everytime I visit that place. That wonder and fascination of learning about the other world just beneath my feet. With the combination of photographs and digital illustrations that wonder and curiosity that I had thought I'd lost is found once more.
